The Seed

In the Abrahamic Covenant

TEXTS ABOUT THE SEED

This document will first consider the seed according to the following text:

Galatians 3:16 Now, the promises were made to Abraham and his seed. He doesn’t say “And to seeds” as of many, but “And to thy seed” as of one, which is Messiah.

I have marked off all references to seed using italics, bold and underlining, including pronouns referring to seed. I will discuss each reference after all Abrahamic Covenant texts have been written except for the largest: the entirety of the Torah entrusted to the Israelis. I did not include all that text, since it is far beyond the reasonable pertinence of this discussion.

Same Texts as Above, but with Installed Discussions

1. And Yehovah said unto Av-ram, "Go! Go from thy land and from thy birthplace and from the house of thy father unto the land that I will show thee.

2. And I will make thee to a great race. And I have blessed thee. And I have made-big thy name. And he shall be a blessing.

3. And I have blessed thy blessers. And I will curse thy detractors [those who do not consider thee important]. And all the families of the soil will be blessed via thee!”

4. And Av-ram went just-as Yehovah spoke unto him. And Lot went with him. And Av-ram is the son of five years and 70 year[s] during-his-going-out from Kharan.

5. And Av-ram took Sarai his wife and Lot (the son of his brother) and all their stuff which they stuffed, and the being which they made in Kharan. And they went-out to go Cnaan-landward. And they came Cnaan-landward.

6. And Av-ram crossed-over into the land unto the place Shkhem unto the Oak of Teaching. And the Cnaanee is then in the land.

7. And Yehovah appeared unto Av-ram. And He said,"“I will give this land to thy seed." And he built an altar there to Yehovah the Appearer unto him.

Discussion: As far as I know, this is the first mention of this special seed. A reader would easily miss the importance of this seed, thinking that it refers to Avram’s offspring, the many Israelis that would be born. Later texts will show that the Israelis do not individually inherit the Land of Israel, though the corporate group does. This text would be promising that all Israeli individuals would obtain the Land if it referred to all Israeli individuals. This is contrary to other texts including those describing inheritance by tribe.

Genesis 15

After these things, a speech of Yehovah was unto Avram via a vision to say, “Fear not, Avram. I am a shield to thee, thy very multiplied wage!”

2. And Avram said, “Lord Yehovah, what wilt Thou give me? And I am walking barren. And the son of the drink-[bearer] of my house, he is Damascus Eliezer!”

3. And Avram said, “Behold, thou hast given no seed to me. And behold, the son of my house is inheriting me.”

4. And behold, the speech of Yehovah is unto him to say, “This shall not inherit thee, but rather whoever will exit from thy internals—he shall inherit thee!”

Discussion: The last statement above has very curious wording: “This shall not inherit thee, but rather whoever will exit from thy internals—he shall inherit thee!” Had it said, “...—they shall inherit thee,” I would have taken this to be the Israelis in general. Since Yehovah saw fit to keep it singular, I see that it refers to the singular seed.

5. And He exited him outside. And He said, “Peer, na, heavensward! And scroll the stars if thou wilt be able to scroll them!” And He said to him, “Thy seed shall be so.”

Discussion: This text seems obviously to refer to Avram’s offspring, comparing the seed with the stars and scrolling them.

6. And he believed in Yehovah. And He thought her to righteousness to him!

7. And He said unto him, “I am Yehovah Who exited thee from Ur of the Chaldeans to give this land to thee to inherit her.”

8. And he said, “Lord Yehovah, via what shall I know that I shall inherit her?”

9. And He said unto him, “Take a heifer to me from three and a she goat from three and a ram from three and a circler and plunderer.”

10. And he took all these to him. And he pieced them in the midst. And he gave a man his piece to meet his neighbor. And he did not divide the bird.

11. And the flyer descended upon the carcasses. And Avram returned them.

12. And the sun was to come [sunset]. And a deep sleep fell upon Avram. And behold a terror of big darkness fell upon him.

13. And He said to Avram, “Knowing, thou shalt know that thy seed shall be a sojourner in a land not theirs. And they shall serve them. And they shall humiliate them four hundred year(s).

14. And also I am adjudicating that race whom they shall serve. And afterward they shall exit with big stuff!

Discussion: The two verses above have an abnormal mixture of singular and plural, if one considers seed singular, and the pronouns theirs as referring to that seed. Yehovah designed the Hebrew language, and He designed its rules. While He will switch genders of nouns on occasions where this will clarify a potential confusion, He doesn’t use a plural pronoun to point to a singular noun. He does use a plural pronoun to consider the set inside of a singular noun on rare occasions, however; He has done this with the singular word people (Ahm). I could not refute this argument if an advocate were to use it here in this verse, though I would refuse to agree with it. I can see that verse 13 identifies the object of theirs and them as the Israelis who will be humiliated four hundred years, and those Israelis will be in a land not theirs. This text also describes the seed being a sojourner (singular). Yehovah could have stated, "...thy seed shall be sojourners," but He didn’t.

15. And thou, thou shalt go unto thy fathers in peace. Thou shalt be entombed via good gray- headedness.

16. And a fourth generation—they shall return here. For the iniquity of the Amorite is not complete unto here.”

17. And he was. The sun came [sunset]. And her darkness was. And behold a furnace of smoke and a torch of fire that crossed between those divisions!

18. In that day Yehovah cut a covenant with Avram to say, “I gave this land to thy seed from the river of Egypt unto the big river, the Euphrates River—

19. the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite

20. and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim

21. and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.”

Discussion: Verse 18 expresses that Yehovah gave that land to Avram’s seed. That is the whole land. This Covenant vow can be true only if the seed means the entire people as a singular unit, since individual Israelis will only obtain pieces of it. Texts refer to seed as a subgroup of the Israelis, however:

Romans 9:7 Neither are they all children just-because they are the seed of Abraham, but “In Isaac shall thy seed be called.” 8That is, they who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Romans 9:29 And as Isaiah said before, “Except the Yehovah of Hosts had left us a seed, we would have been as Sodom and would have been like unto Gomorrah.”

Thus, one must see seed always as a subgroup of the Israelis, and not as the whole people.

Genesis 17

1. And Elevated-Father is the son of 90 year(s) and 9 years. And Yehovah appeared unto Elevated-Father. And He said unto him, “I am El Shaddai! Walk-thyself to my faces and be perfect!

2. And I gave my Covenant between me and between thee. And I multiplied thee into very much very much!”

3. And Elevated-Father fell upon his faces.

And Elohim spoke with him to say,

4. “I—behold my Covenant is with thee. And thou shalt be for a father of a crowd of races.

5. And he shall not call again thy name ‘Elevated-Father.’ And thy name shall be Father-of-a- Multitude because I gave thee father of a crowd of races.

6. And I will make thee fruitful into very much very much. And I will give thee for races. And kings shall-go-out from thee.

7. And I will make-stand my Covenant between me and between thee and between thy seed after thee to their generations for a Covenant of Hider to be to thee for Elohim and to thy seed after thee.

8. And I will give to thee and to thy seed after thee the Land of thy sojournings, all the Land of Merchant for a possession of Hider. And I will be to them for Elohim.”

Discussion: “Thy seed” and “their generations” (verse 7) cannot be the same. The reason is the same as above: singular and plural are not the same. The last part of that verse again refers to “thy seed” in the singular. That will reassure the careful reader that seed and there are two different entities.

Verse 8 continues with the same distinction: “thy seed” (singular) and “I will be to them for Elohim” in the last part of the verse.

[I have elsewhere proposed that Hider refers to Yehovah Who has intentionally made Himself invisible so that man can live by faith. I have not claimed that Hider is Yeshua, but I have associated Hider with Alef and Tof, rendered Alpha and Omega, since what is between the Hidings (the histories before the earth was created, and after the New Earth will be created and populated) is revealed.]

9. And Elohim said unto Father-of-a-Multitude, “And thou, thou shalt guard my Covenant─thou and thy seed after thee to their generations.

Discussion: Three entities are mentioned in the last phrase: thou, thy seed, and their. I see them as three distinct entities.

10. This is my Covenant that ye shall guard between me and between you and between thy seed after thee: Circumcise for you every male.

Discussion: This verse introduces a new group: ye/you. That is plural, but it is directed toward Avraham. The text makes a strong distinction between you and thy seed. While you includes many, thy in “thy seed” includes just one: Avraham. Thus, Avraham is part of ye/you, and all who are also part of them are part of the Covenant.

11. And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin. And he shall be for a sign of the Covenant between me and between you.

Discussion: “...your foreskin” uses a plural pronoun with a singular foreskin, showing that a group also has a foreskin.

12. And he will circumcise the son of eight days to you, every male to your generations, childed of a house and acquired of silver from every son of a stranger who he is not from thy seed.

13. Circumcising, he shall circumcise a childed of thy house and acquired of thy silver. And she shall be my Covenant in your flesh for a Covenant of Hider.

14. And the foreskin of a male that he will not circumcise the flesh of his foreskin, and that being shall be cut-off from her peoples. He broke my Covenant!”

Discussion: “Verse 12 speaks of a singular he who will circumcise. This individual will live through all of Avraham’s generations and through all of those who are Avraham’s offspring’s generations.

The last word seed in verse 12 doesn’t pertain, but nevertheless I marked it.

Verse 13 continues with the work of this singular entity: “Circumcising, he shall circumcise...” as if he is the only circumciser.

Verse 14 warns that any bieng not circumcised by this singular being will be damned (being cut off from her peoples—a permanent cutting off).

15. And Elohim said unto Father-of-a-Multitude, “My-Princes thy woman─thou shalt not call her name My-Princes. For Princess is her name.

16. And I will bless her. And also I gave a son to thee from her. And I will bless her. And she shall be for races. Kings of peoples shall be from her.”

17. And Father-of-a-Multitude fell upon his faces. And he laughed. And he said in his heart, “Will he be childed to a son of 100 year(s)? And if Princess the daughter of 90 year(s) shall child?”

18. And Father-of-a-Multitude said unto the Elohim, “Were it that Mighty-One-Shall-Hearken will live to Thy faces.”

19. And Elohim said, “But Princess thy wife is childing to thee a son. And thou shalt call his name He-Will-Laugh. And I will make-stand my Covenant with him for a Covenant of Hider to his seed after him.

Discussion: This singular seed is mentioned again, though I see no evidence of identity in this text.

20. And I have hearkened to thee for Mighty-One-Shall-Hearken. Behold I blessed him. And I will make him fruitful. And I will multiply him into very much very much. He will child twelve leaders. And I will give him (in)to a big race.

21. And I will make-stand my Covenant with He-Will-Laugh whom Princess shall child to thee for this appointment in the year after.”

22. And He finished speaking with him. And Elohim ascended from upon Father-of-a-Multitude.

23. And Father-of-a-Multitude took Mighty-One-Shall-Hearken his son and all childed of his house and every acquired of his silver, every male with the men of the house of Father-of-a- Multitude. And he circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in this selfsame day just-as Elohim spoke with him.

24. And Father-of-a-Multitude is the son of 90 and 9 year(s) during his circumcising the flesh of his foreskin.

25. And Mighty-One-Shall-Hearken his son is the son of 13 year(s) during his circumcising the flesh of his foreskin.

26. In this selfsame day Father-of-a-Multitude was circumcised and Mighty-One-Shall-Hearken his son.

27. And all the men of his house, childed of a house and acquired of silver from with the son of a stranger, were circumcised with him.

Genesis 18

1. And Yehovah appeared unto him in the oaks of Bitter-Causer. And he sat the opening of the tent as the heat of the day.

2. And he lifted his eyes. And he saw/feared. And behold three men are positioning upon him. And he saw/feared. And he ran to meet them from the opening of the tent. And he prostrated landward.

3. And he said, “My Lords, if, na, I found favour in thine eyes, do not [singular], pray, cross- over from upon thy servant.

4. A little of water shall be taken, na. And wash your feet. And lean ye under the tree.

5. And I have taken a morsel of bread. And sustain-ye your heart. After, ye shall cross-over. For therefore ye have crossed-over upon your servant.” And they said, “So thou shalt do just- as thou hast spoken.”

6. And Father-of-a-Multitude hurried-to the tent unto Princess. And he said, “Hurry! Knead three measures of fine-meal flour and make pitas!”

7. And Father-of-a-Multitude ran unto the herd. And he took the son of the herd, tender and good. And he gave unto the youth. And he hurried to make him.

8. And he took butter and milk and the son of the herd that he made. And he gave to their faces. And he sat beside them under the tree. And they ate.

9. And they said unto him, “Where is Princess thy woman?” And he said, “Behold in the tent.”

10. And He said, “Returning, I will return unto thee as the time of an animal. And behold a son is to Princess thy woman.” And Princess heard, the opening of the tent. And he is after him.

11. And Father-of-a-Multitude and Princess are elders, coming in days. The path as women ceased to be to Princess.

12. And Princess laughed inside herself to say, “After I have atrophied, there was to me pleasure, and my lord is old?”

13. And Yehovah said unto Father-of-a-Multitude, “Why is this? Princess laughed to say, ‘Even faithfully I will bear, and I, I was old?’

14. Will the thing be-more-miraculous-than Yehovah? At the appointment I will return unto thee as the time of an animal. And to Princess is a son.”

15. And Princess lied to say, “I did not laugh!” For, she feared. And he said, “No, for thou didst laugh!”

16. And the men arose from there. And they peered upon the faces of Scorch. And Father-of- a-Multitude walked with them to send them.

17. And Yehovah said, “Am I covering what I am doing from Father-of-a-Multitude?

18. And Father-of-a-Multitude, becoming, shall become to a big and strong race. And all the races of the earth will be blessed via him!

19. For I have known him so that he will command his children and his house after him. And they shall guard the way of Yehovah to do righteousness and justice so-that Yehovah has brought upon Father-of-a-Multitude what He spoke concerning him."

Genesis 21

12. And Elohim said unto Father-of-a-Multitude, “He will not be bad in thine eyes concerning the youth and concerning thy slavewoman. All that Princess will say unto thee, hearken into her voice! For He will call seed to thee in He-Will-Laugh!

13. And also with the son of the slavewoman—I will put him to a race! For he is thy seed.”

Discussion: “For He will call seed” and “For He will call a seed” are the same in Hebrew.

Verse 13 sets two possibilities before careful readers. While the verse obviously is stating that Ishmael is the seed of Avraham, it is not so obviously stating something quite different: “I will put him to a race” refers to Ishmael, and “For he is thy seed” refers to the Messiah. The latter is what I propose this text is stating. Yehovah will put Ishmael to a race, but Messiah Yeshua is Avraham’s seed.

Genesis 12 pieces:

• Yehovah shows a land to Avram.

• Yehovah will make Avram to a big race.

• Yehovah blessed Avram.

• Yehovah made Avram’s name big.

• Avram’s ‘name’ will be a blessing.

• Yehovah blessed Avram’s blessers.

• Yehovah will curse Avram’s light esteemers.

• All families of the soil will be blessed via Avram.

• Yehovah will give the land of Canaan to Avram’s seed.

Genesis 17 pieces:

• The Covenant is between El Shaddai and Avram.

• El Shaddai multiplied Avram into very much, very much.

• Avram will be to a father of a crowd of races.

• Avram’s name will be Avraham.

• El Shaddai gave Avram, father of a crowd of races.

• El Shaddai will make Avraham fruitful very much, very much!

• El Shaddai will give Avraham to races!

• Kings will exit from Avraham.

• El Shaddai will cause This Covenant to stand between El Shaddai and Avraham, and between Avraham’s seed (Yeshua) to the generations of the Israelis: a Covenant of Hider to be to Avraham, to Elohim, and to Avraham’s seed after Avraham.

• El Shaddai will give to Avraham and to Yeshua after Avraham the land of Avraham’s sojournings: all the land of Canaan. This will be to a possession of Hider.

• El Shaddai will be to the Israelis to Elohim.

• Avraham will guard Elohim’s Covenant, and so will Yeshua throughout the generations of the Israelis.

• Every male that belongs to Avraham will be circumcised.

• All male offspring of Avraham must circumcise the flesh of their foreskin (singular). This is a sign of this Covenant between Elohim and the Israelis.

• Yeshua will circumcise the son of eight days to the Israelis, every male to the generations of Avraham, Isaac, and Jacob, childed of the House of Israel and acquired by silver from every son of a stranger who the stranger isn’t from Avraham’s seed.

• Yeshua, guaranteed, will circumcise every childed of Avraham’s house and everyone acquired by Avraham’s silver (bought slaves).

• The Covenant is therefore physically represented in the flesh of the Israelis.

• The Covenant will never cease up to Hider.
