Salvation Is of the Jews
©March 11, 1996 Saar Shalom Center

Ye worship ye know not what.
We know what we worship.
For salvation is of the Jews.

Few know what they worship. Some have a Jesus or a Yeshua whose description is not Biblical. Some have a Gentile Jesus who came to do away with the Torah. Others have a Jewish Yeshua who, while fitting some of the Biblical descriptions, contradicts others.

Some claim that their Yeshua is waiting for the Jews to call upon him to "fall upon us now," at which time he will send a revival and the kingdoms of this world will become his. He will return and glorify the Jews who had the foresight to do this. They entirely skip the Tribulation (it is an ugly concept). Their Yeshua did not participate in the historic tragedies of Israel. They cannot believe that the Nazi holocaust was one of the promised judgments against Israel for violating and rejecting the Torah. They could never accept that Yeshua made sure the murderer Hitler would continue for the time that he did. They do not believe that no one can touch Israel without first going through Yehovah of Hosts.

Salvation is of the Jews:
The Messiah is a Son of David of the Tribe of Judah

The Jewish lineage of the Messiah is not merely Jewish by the broad definition (referring to any Israeli), but that He was born of the Tribe of Judah. The following texts show the range of folk recognizing Yeshua as a son of David (who was from the Tribe of Judah).

Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Messiah Yeshua the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Matthew 9:27 And when Yeshua departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying and saying, "Son of David! Have mercy on us!"

Matthew 12:23 And all the people were amazed and said, "Is not this the son of David?"

Matthew 15:22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts and cried unto him, saying, "Have mercy on me Lord, son of David! My daughter is grievously vexed with a devil!"

Matthew 22:41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Yeshua asked them saying, "What think ye of the Messiah? Whose son is he?" They say unto him, "Of David."

Salvation is of the Jews:
The Future Ruler of Israel Will Be of Judah, and Will Be God Himself

Micah 5:2 And thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, thou art little among the thousands of Judah. Out of thee shall He come forth unto Me to be ruler in Israel Whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. And the government shall be upon His shoulder. And His Name shall be called Wonderful. Counsellor. The mighty God. The everlasting Father. The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of government and peace [there] is no end upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to order it and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Yehovah of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 7:13 And he said, "Hear ye now, House of David! [Is it] a small thing for you to weary men, and will ye weary my God also? Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign! Behold the pregnant virgin! And she shall bear a son and shall call his name Immanuel."

Salvation is of the Jews:
Redemption Has Come Through a Son of Judah

Psalm 130:7 Israel shall hope in Yehovah. For with Yehovah is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Luke 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Messiah Yeshua Whom God hath set forth a propitiation through faith in His blood to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past through the forbearance of God--to declare at this time His righteousness that He will be righteous and the justifier of him who believeth in Yeshua.

1 Corinthians 1:30 But of Him are ye in Messiah Yeshua Who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, he shall glory in the Lord.

Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace in which He hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence...

Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father Who hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated into the kingdom of His dear Son in Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature...

Hebrews 9:11 But the Messiah being come an high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle--not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building--neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption.

Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of the Messiah, Who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause He is the mediator of the New Testament that by means of death for the redemption of the transgressions under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Isaiah 41:14 "Fear not, thou worm Jacob, ye men of Israel. I will help thee!" saith Yehovah and thy redeemer the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 43:14 Thus saith Yehovah, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, "For your sake I have sent to Babylon..."

Isaiah 47:4 Our redeemer: Yehovah of hosts is His name, the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 48:17 Thus saith Yehovah, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, "I am Yehovah thy God Who teacheth thee to profit, Who leadeth thee by the way thou shouldest go."

Isaiah 49:26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh. And they shall be drunken with their own blood as with sweet wine. And all flesh shall know that I Yehovah am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Isaiah 60:16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles and shalt suck the breast of kings. And thou shalt know that I Yehovah am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

The above texts link redemption to Messiah Yeshua Who is Yehovah, the Holy One of Israel, and Who was previously shown to be of the Tribe of Judah. The redemptive aspect of Salvation is through Judah.

Salvation is of the Jews:
The Branch of Righteousness Is of David

Jeremiah 33:14 "Behold the days come," saith Yehovah, "that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah. In those days and at that time, I will cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David. And he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. In those days shall Judah be saved and Jerusalem shall dwell safely. And this [is the name] wherewith she shall be called, 'Yehovah our righteousness.'"

Salvation is of the Jews:
The Seed and the Inheritor of Yehovah's Mountains Is From Jacob and Judah

Isaiah 65:9 "And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains. And mine elect shall inherit it. And my servants shall dwell there."

Salvation is of the Jews:
The Fall of the Jews Is Salvation To the Gentiles To Provoke the Jews To Jealousy

Romans 11:11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? Absolutely not! But through their fall salvation is unto the Gentiles to provoke them to jealousy.

Yehovah sent salvation to the Gentiles because the Jews fell, and He determined to provoke them to jealousy. Is there any argument with Yehovah's justice in this matter?

Salvation is of the Jews:
Their Fall Is For the Riches of the World, Their Diminishing the Riches of the Gentiles; Their Fulness Yet To Come Will Be To the Great Blessing of All

Romans 11:12 Now if the fall of them is the riches of the world and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles, how much more their fulness?

Israel's fulness will enrich the Gentiles and the world.

Genesis 12:1 And Yehovah said unto Abram, "Get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and from thy father's house unto a land that I will show thee. And I will make of thee a great race. And I will bless thee and make thy name great. And thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee. And in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."

Salvation is of the Jews:
The Casting Away of Them Is the Reconciling of the World and the Receiving of Them Is Life From the Dead

Romans 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles--I magnify mine office if by any means I may provoke to emulation my flesh and might save some of them. For if the casting away of them is the reconciling of the world, what is the receiving but life from the dead?

Romans 11:16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also. And if the root is holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou (being a wild olive tree) wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree, boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, "The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in." Fine. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear! For if God spared not the natural branches, [take heed] lest he also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness (if thou continue in goodness, otherwise thou also shalt be cut off). And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in. For God is able to graft them in again. For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree, how much more shall these which are the natural be grafted into their own olive tree? For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery (lest ye should be wise in your own conceits) that blindness in part is happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel: enemies for your sakes, but as touching the election: beloved for the fathers' sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief, even so have these also now not believed that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

Life from the dead is another way of saying resurrection. There will be no resurrection without the receiving of the Jews. The whole hope of all true Saints must be in Israel's reception into faith.

Salvation is of the Jews:
The Oracles Have Been Entrusted To Them

Romans 3:1 What advantage then hath the Jew or what is the profit of circumcision? Much every way! Chiefly because unto them were committed the oracles of God.

Oracles of God are His declarations, especially the written Scriptures. Salvation is of the Jews because they were given the Scriptures by which faith comes:

Romans 10:17 So then faith is by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Salvation is of the Jews:
To Them Are the Adoption, the Glory, the Covenants, the Giving of the Law, the Service, the Promises, the Fathers, the Coming of the Messiah

Romans 9:3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from the Messiah for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh who are Israelis, to whom are the adoption and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Torah and the service and the promises, whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh is the Messiah Who is over all God blessed for ever. Amen.

Salvation is of the Jews:
Those Who Help Jews In the Tribulation Will Be Saved; the Rest Will Be Damned

Matthew 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in His glory (and all the holy angels with Him), then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory. And before Him shall be gathered all nations. And He shall separate them one from another as a shepherd divideth the sheep from the goats. And He shall set the sheep on His right hand but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, "Come, ye blessed of my Father! Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world! For I was hungry, and ye gave me food. I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink. I was a stranger, and ye took me in. Naked, and ye clothed me. I was sick, and ye visited me. I was in prison, and ye came unto me." Then shall the righteous answer Him saying, "Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed? or thirsty, and gave drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took in? or naked, and clothed? Or when saw we thee sick or in prison, and came unto thee?" And the King shall answer and say unto them, "Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done unto me." Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, "Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! For I was hungry and ye gave me no food. I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink. I was a stranger, and ye took me not in. Naked, and ye clothed me not. Sick and in prison, and ye visited me not." Then shall they also answer him saying, "Lord, when saw we thee hungry or athirst, or a stranger or naked, or sick or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?" Then shall He answer them saying, "Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye did not to one of the least of these, ye did not to me!" And these shall go away into everlasting punishment. but the righteous into life eternal.

Three groups are in this text: the righteous, the cursed, and the brethren. Who are the brethren? They are not being judged because they were already judged in the Tribulation. Who are they? They are the Jews! The righteous are the Gentiles who helped Jews in some way during the Tribulation. The cursed are the Gentiles who did not use their opportunities to help. The Gentiles who helped the Jews will inherit the Kingdom prepared for them from the foundation of the world. They are called righteous. They will literally understand that Salvation is of the Jews.

Salvation is of the Jews:
They Are the Salt of the Earth and the Light of the World

Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Many do not know that these texts refer to Israelis, assuming them to refer to Christians. Messiah said,

Matthew 10:6  "But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

The constitution of the Church should be derived from many texts, including Ephesians 5:22-32, where she is still awaiting sanctification and cleansing. (Sanctification has to do with ownership, not with morality.)

Salvation is of the Jews:
God Is With Them

Zechariah 8:20 Thus saith Yehovah of hosts, Yet there shall come people and the inhabitants of many cities. And the inhabitants of one shall go to another, saying, "Let us go speedily to pray before Yehovah and to seek Yehovah of hosts. I will go also." Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek Yehovah of hosts in Jerusalem and to pray before Yehovah. Thus saith Yehovah of hosts, "In those days, ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, 'We will go with you. For we have heard God is with you.'"

Salvation is of the Jews.
