JORDAN MOST "ANTI-JEWISH," NETHERLANDS MOST POSITIVE
A poll report at the online World Tribune states Jordan leads the pack with anti-Jewish attitudes:

"Jordan leads the Islamic world in its antipathy for Jews according to a new poll by the Pew Research Center.

The poll, which surveyed 17,000 people in 17 countries, said 100 percent of Jordanians viewed Jews unfavorably. The majority of Jordanians are Palestinians, but the late King Hussein and his son and successor, King Abdullah have been known for their pro-American stances.

Russia led all other countries with favorable views of Christians (92 percent) while Turkey (63 percent) had the most unfavorable view of Christians.

The Netherlands led all nations surveyed both in positive views of Jews (85 percent) and negative views of Muslims (51 percent).

Significant numbers of respondents in only Jordan (38 percent) and Lebanon (40 percent) blamed U.S. policies for Islamic extremism.

JW'S AND THE JEWS
Came across a web site purporting to show verbatim (and historical) Jehovah Witness literature from the 1930s - 1980s with examples of the groups teachings about the Jews (under the title of 'Nazi Conciliation'). From the site quotes.watchtower.ca:

"ORGY OF LOOTING" FOLLOWS GAZA PULLOUT
The Jerusalem Post reports on the general anarchy following PA assuming control of the settler areas:

"...In an attempt to halt the looting, PA policemen sealed off the former settlements and declared them closed military zones. Club-wielding policemen intercepted some of the looters, confiscating water pipes, roof tiles and window frames. One man who refused to hand over stolen items was severely beaten. The policemen also banned cars from entering Neveh Dekalim.

During a tour of Neveh Dekalim, Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei called upon Palestinians to leave the greenhouses intact. He also urged them to stop looting and start rebuilding in the abandoned settlements.

"The nightmare is over, the occupation has gone and Gaza is now without settlers. Today we begin the process of rebuilding," he said.

Addressing the looters, Qurei added: "You won't profit from a pillar, plastic tubing or pieces of wood that you are taking. Protect them because they are yours. These greenhouses are for the Palestinian people. We don't want anyone to touch or harm anything that can be useful for our people."

But even as he spoke, hundreds of Palestinians raided the former settlement of Gadid to sift through debris. "This is a big disgrace," said policeman Raed Hijazi as he watched the looters. "They are taking everything. This they are stealing the property of the Palestinian people."

PA Interior Ministry spokesman Tawfik Abu Khoussa condemned the looting and complained that the PA did not have enough forces to impose law and order. However, he claimed that the looting did not cause structural damage to the greenhouses.

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said on Tuesday that the Israeli withdrawal was not an end to occupation and that Israel must also withdraw from the West Bank and Jerusalem.

JEWS IN BRITAIN "UNDER SEIGE"?
Blogs on the internet are the home of many an hyperbole, but this particular report about the media in Britain and it's handling of the Gaza pullout makes one wonder what's afoot [from melaniephilllips.com]:

"...I wondered how the media would respond to the revelations in Sunday’s newspapers of extreme anti-Jewish bigotry and Holocaust denial among Muslim advisers to the government on combating Islamist extremism. As I feared the reaction has ranged from silence to indifference, with more than one report even appearing to endorse some of the most poisonous prejudice at the core of the Muslim demand.

There is now a real feeling of siege among the Jews of Britain. The most extraordinary anti-Jewish libels and prejudice are pouring forth from Muslims and their unholy comrades on the left — including some deracinated or pathologically embittered Jews —and yet there are no outraged or impassioned editorials condemning such bigotry, putting the record straight or warning about where all this may be leading, not just for the Jews but for the wider population. Whether it’s Holocaust denial, the lies about Israel’s ‘genocide’ of the Palestinian Arabs or the blood-lust and anarchy currently on display in Gaza, the British media are managing to blame the Jews and excuse their attackers."

TONY BLAIR CONTROLLED BY "FREEMASONS & JEWS"
The UK Telegraph has a story of a Tony Blair advisor who claims Blair is under Zionist and Freemason control:

"...Tony Blair decided to wage war on Iraq after coming under the influence of a "sinister" group of Jews and Freemasons, a Muslim barrister who advises the Prime Minister has claimed.

Ahmad Thomson, from the Association of Muslim Lawyers, said Mr Blair was the latest in a long line of politicians to have been influenced by the group which saw the attack on Saddam Hussein as a way to control the Middle East.

A Government spokesman confirmed last night that ministers and officials consulted Mr Thomson on issues concerning Muslims but refused to be drawn on his views.

It seems to me that a more efficient consolidation would be a conspiracy run by a Jewish Freemason.

BRITAIN'S "HOLOCAUST DAY" TO BE SCRAPPED?
The UK Times is reporting that "Holocaust Day" in Britain is under attack by the men working for the man who created it:

"...ADVISERS appointed by Tony Blair after the London bombings are proposing to scrap the Jewish Holocaust Memorial Day because it is regarded as offensive to Muslims.

They want to replace it with a Genocide Day that would recognise the mass murder of Muslims in Palestine, Chechnya and Bosnia as well as people of other faiths.The draft proposals have been prepared by committees appointed by Blair to tackle extremism. He has promised to respond to the plans, but the threat to the Holocaust Day has provoked a fierce backlash from the Jewish community.

Holocaust Day was established by Blair in 2001 after a sustained campaign by Jewish leaders to create a lasting memorial to the 6m victims of Hitler. It is marked each year on January 27".

BRITAIN'S TOP JOB TO COUNTER MUSLIM TERROR APPOINTED TO ANTI-SEMITE?
The UK Telegraph is reporting that Inayat Bunglawala, appointedas a Convener by the British Home Office, has a history of anti-Semitic statements:

"...Bunglawala's past comments include the allegation that the British media was "Zionist-controlled".

Writing for a Muslim youth magazine in 1992, he said: "The chairman of Carlton Communications is Michael Green of the Tribe of Judah. He has joined an elite club whose members include fellow Jews Michael Grade [then the chief executive of Channel 4 and now BBC chairman] and Alan Yentob [BBC2 controller and friend of Salman Rushdie]."

The three are reported to be "close friends… so that's what they mean by a 'free media'."

In January 1993, Mr Bunglawala wrote a letter to Private Eye, the satirical magazine, in which he called the blind Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman "courageous" - just a month before he bombed the World Trade Center in New York."

DEMOGRAPHICS PREDICT ISLAMIC FUTURE
The Asia Times carries a report on the statistics that picture a future Arab expansion:

"[demographics] provide vital strategic information, albeit in quite a different fashion. Today’s Islamists think like the French general staff in 1914. Islam has one generation in which to establish a global theocracy before hitting a demographic barrier. Islam has enough young men - the pool of unemployed Arabs is expected to reach 25 million by 2010 - to fight a war during the next 30 years. Because of mass migration to Western Europe, the worst of the war might be fought on European soil.

One in five Arabs still live on less than $2 a day. And over the past 20 years growth in income per head, at an annual rate of .5%, was lower than anywhere else in the world except sub-Saharan Africa. At this rate, says the report, it will take the average Arab 140 years to double his income, a target that some regions are set to reach in less than 10 years. Stagnant growth, together with a fast-rising population, means vanishing jobs. About 12 million people, or 15% of the labor force, are already unemployed, and on present trends the number could rise to 25 million by 2010.

Excluding Indonesia, the Muslim’s world literacy rate stands at only 53%, against 81% for China; Arab literacy is only 50%. Only 1% of the population owns a personal computer. It is delusional to believe that the Arab world, which now exports (net of oil) as much as Finland, might come to compete with China, India and the rest of Asia in the global market for goods and services.

Just as the Muslim population peaks, the one bounty that nature has bestowed upon the Arabs, namely oil, will begin to diminish."

MAYOR OF LONDON ACCUSES ISRAEL OF "CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY"
The Jerusalem Post has the recent words from London's Mayor:

"London Mayor Ken Livingstone, whose city was devastated by Islamic suicide bombings earlier in the month, lashed out at Israel Tuesday, comparing the Likud to Hamas and accusing Israel of "crimes against humanity."

At a London press conference, Livingstone, who has a long record of anti-Israeli diatribes, drew a connection between the London blasts and the Middle East. He said Israel had "done horrendous things which border on crimes against humanity in the way they have indiscriminately slaughtered men, women and children in the West Bank and Gaza for decades."

CANADIAN JUSTICE MINISTER SPEAKS OUT ON THE SPREAD OF ANTI-SEMITISM IN THE WEST
The Jerusalem Post reports on Justice Minister Irwin Cotler's remarks during his visit to Israel:

"Canadian Justice Minister Irwin Cotler took time out from participating in the Maccabiah games this week to express his concern over the connection between bias against Israel and the spread of anti-Semitism in the West.

Bemoaning a "new anti-Semitism" that "rejects the right of the Jewish people to live as an equal member in the family of nations," Cotler warned against "the de-legitimization of Israel, the demonization of Israel, the classic anti-Semitic symbolism of Israel as the poisoner of the international well, the double standard in the singling out of the Jewish people and their discriminatory treatment in the international arena ."

THE JEWISH CATACOMBS OF ANCIENT ROME
The Jerusalem Post has a story on the investigation of ancient Jewish burial in the catacombs of Rome:

USA SOFTENS STANCE ON MEETING WITH HAMAS
The Jerusalem Post Has a story on a percieved change in United States policy toward the Palestinian Hamas group:

"Officials said they might be open to contacts with some Hamas political affiliates and left open the possibility of dealing with the group if it gave up weapons and ended violence, in contrast to past calls for its total dismantlement.

The shift also follows a behind-the-scenes push by European allies, including Britain and France, for Washington to drop its call to dismantle Hamas completely.

European officials warned Washington that doing so would be a "disaster" for Palestinians who benefited from Hamas aid, sources said. "

JEWS AT US AIR FORCE ACADEMY FACING RELIGIOUS COERCION
Ha'aretz is carrying a story of religious coercion by evangelical christians at the United States Air Force Academy:

"Mikey Weinstein and his family are proud of their history in the American armed forces. His father graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, Weinstein is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado, as are his oldest son and future daughter-in-law, and his younger son is currently enrolled there. Given this sort of background, it goes without saying that Weinstein, who now lives in New Mexico, is extremely proud of the Air Force Academy, which trains the future pilots of the USAF. Yet along with this pride, Weinstein also harbors an intense rage that has turned him into a leader of the battle against the religious coercion he discovered in the institution he so reveres.

...Aside from the systematic promotion of Christianity, and its evangelical denomination in particular, on the grounds of the Air Force Academy, the group also reported cases of discrimination against non-Christian pilot cadets. For instance, when Christian cadets wished to leave campus on Sunday and attend church or religious classes, the request was granted without difficulty and without the cadets losing vacation days; when under similar circumstances Jews asked to leave the base, they were not permitted, or had the days deducted from their vacation time. Moreover, Jews on the base reported that the strain of training activity on Saturdays was so intense that they often had no opportunity to attend services."

ISRAELI PREMIER SHARON MEETS WITH "MESSIANIC JEW"
The Jerusalem Post leads off with a story on a meeting of Sharon with three U.S. Republican consultants by identifying one the of the men specifically as both a "Messianic Jew" and a "Jew for Jesus:"

"Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, interested in shoring up his standing in the influential US Evangelical Christian community, met eight leading Evangelical figures Tuesday, including Jay Sekulow, a high profile Messianic Jew.

Sekulow, who runs a conservative civil liberties group called the American Center for Law & Justice that was set up by evangelist Pat Robertson, is considered close to US President George W. Bush and was one of three strategists charged by the White House with the task of getting Bush's controversial court nominees through the Senate.

Among the others in the delegation were Paul Crouch, the founder and President of the world's largest Christian television network, the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), Michael Little, the President and Chief Operating Officer of The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) and Ted Haggard, president of the National Association of Evangelicals.

Haggard told Sharon that the official policy of the organization he represents is "to support the state of Israel come hell or high water. We are staunch supporters. We believe that you were chosen by God to lead the people of Israel in this difficult period. We fully support you, because we believe it is God's will."

He said that Bush used those exact words – support for Israel 'come hell or high water' – during a meeting the President had with Evangelical leaders prior to November's elections. "

V.E. DAY IN GERMANY BRINGS NEO-NAZI CONFRONTATIONS
The anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe was celebrated in ironic ways. Berlin was the scene of 5,000 neo-nazis marching while being counter-protested by 10,000 Germans from left-wing groups, trade unions and church organizations. The UK London Times has the story:

"MASSED German riot police and 10,000 protesters blocked thousands of neo-Nazis from ambushing VE-Day celebrations in Berlin yesterday by sealing them off from the rest of the capital.

The Government was spared the spectacle of skin-headed, black-shirted Nazi sympathisers marching towards the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust memorial and Hitler’s bunker on this most sensitive of days.

"Let us out!" the angry neo-Nazis yelled after they were told to abandon a planned parade because of the risk of serious violence. Nearly 5,000 members of the German far Righthad met to hear Udo Voigt, the leader of the National Party of Germany (the NPD), denounce Gerhard Schröder, the Chancellor, as a traitor.

...The bizarre nature of the neo-Nazi rally — one of the largest since the war — was underlined by the number of frail war veterans, some wearing the Iron Cross, rubbing shoulders with the skinheads."

GERMAN TENNIS "BETTER" WITHOUT JEWS
The UK Guardian reports about a German tennis event with an unpleasant educational viewpoint:

"The hosts of the German Open tennis tournament apologised yesterday after a programme published for the event described the host club as enjoying a "golden age" after Jewish members were expelled by the Nazis.

Illustrated with a photograph of the head of the Luftwaffe, Hermann Goering, watching a match at Berlin's LTTC Rot-Weiss club, the article has scandalised the Qatar Total women's tournament and caused a walk out by Jewish spectators.

The article said the flight of Jewish tennis players from Nazi Germany in the 1930s and 1940s only led to a brief drop in membership, and that it finally ushered in the club's best years.

"The number of members was reduced by half but in this way the former so-called Jews' club opened itself to new members," wrote the anonymous author. "

CHRISTIANS IN SAUDI ARABIA ARRESTED
The New York Sun reports on the results of unapproved Christian worshipping in Saudi Arabia:

"Saudi state-controlled newspapers reported on April 23 that two days earlier, security forces rounded up 40 men, women, and children of Pakistani citizenship who were worshipping at an abandoned villa in western Riyadh, according to translations provided by American-based Saudi monitors.

Al-Riyadh newspaper quoted a security official as saying that the Christians were arrested for "trying to spread their poisonous religious beliefs to others through the distribution of books and pamphlets," the Saudi Institute in Washington, D.C., said in a report."

"MEIN KAMPF" BIG SELLER IN TURKEY

J-WITNESSES BATTLE HAREDI IN ISRAEL FOR "LOST JEWS"
The Jerusalem Post has the story:

"All of you good Jews, don't leave the Jewish people, please read our literature about this cult," says a woman handing out brochures to the scores of Russian immigrants hurrying into the office building where the Jehovah's Witnesses rent a meeting room.

On the sidewalk, a woman getting out of a car and heading into the building tells her young daughter, "Don't talk to those people." Off to the side, watching the crowd, Ya'acov says, "They're taught that Yad L'Achim is the personification of the devil."
A veteran Russian immigrant who became ultra-Orthodox a few years ago, Ya'acov points out that despite the nice-looking, rather formal clothes the people are wearing, they are poor.

"They have no money to buy clothes – it's second-hand stuff from charity houses," he says, explaining that proselytizing sects like the Jehovah's Witnesses and Messianic Jews (popularly known as Jews for Jesus) zero in on Russian immigrants who are vulnerable because of poverty and culture shock."
